RAMS EXTEND STREAK, THWART BINGHAMTON 6-1

The short story: Arvid Noren, Philip Mobius and Catalin Fifea were each victorious in both singles and doubles play as VCU extended its win streak to four matches with a 6-1 triumph over Binghamton Friday at Thalhimer Tennis Center.
 
FIRST SERVE
  • Fifea improved to 7-0 in spring singles action when he outlasted Eliot Hureau, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 on the No. 2 court.
  • The match of the day, however, transpired on the No. 4 singles court. Ludovico Cestarollo and VCU's Daryl Monfils battled in an epic first set. Cestarollo eventually edged Monfils 7-6 (12-10). But Monfils would have the last laugh. He recovered for 6-3, 6-4 wins in the final two sets to earn the win.
  • VCU has won four straight matches by a combined score of 21-2.
