OPENING VOLLEY
- Senior Kalah Jones led the VCU offense with nine kills and hit .238, but it wasn't enough to overcome Ohio Saturday at Purdue's Mortar Board Premier.
- Sophomore Jessica Young provided four of VCU's nine total blocks and freshman setter Indigo Thompson handed out 16 assists for the Rams.
- Ohio's blockers proved to be a difficult challenge for VCU. The Bobcats' Karin Bull provided six blocks as Ohio held the Rams to a .013 hitting percentage. Ohio hit .304 on the afternoon.
KEY MOMENTS
- VCU dropped the opening set, but charged out to a 13-6 advantage in the second frame as Ohio faltered. But the Bobcats rallied to tie the set at 15-all and took the lead for good with a 3-0 burst that made it 21-19.
