  • The Short Story: VCU women's soccer ended regular season play with a 3-2 loss against crosstown Atlantic-10 Conference rival Richmond on Sunday. The Rams and Spiders swapped goals in each half before Richmond broke the tie with a score in the final 10 minutes of regulation to win the match.

How It Happened

  • Freshman Kelly Graves redirected a shot from fellow forward Julia Suarez into the net for a 1-0 VCU lead in the 14th minute.
  • Richmond was able to net the equalizer with five minutes remaining in the half.
  • The Spiders added another to take a 2-1 advantage in the 60th minute.
  • Freshman Maddi Santo made it a 2-2 match in the 73rd minute, finishing a loose ball after Sharon Wojcik header was saved.
  • Richmond pulled ahead with eight minutes left in the match to take a 3-2 victory.
