  • The Short Story: The VCU women's soccer team celebrated Senior Night on Thursday night and finished the evening, battling Saint Louis to a 0-0 draw. The Rams extended their unbeaten streak to four and have lost just once in the past 11 matches. 

How It Happened

  • Despite being outshot 9-1 in the first half, the Rams battled for possession through the first 45 minutes of play.
  • VCU controlled possession after the break, outshooting the Billikens 10-1.
  • Despite chances to score late, the Rams were unable to score before the end of regulation.
  • The Black & Gold were unable to put Saint Louis away in overtime, but did keep the Billikens out of the net to earn the draw.
  • Senior Sharon Wojcik nearly gave VCU the advantage on several plays. The midfielder had a shot deflect off of the post and another saved by the keeper who was just able to get her hand on the ball.
  • Fellow senior Emma Kruse made five saves in the match to keep the Rams in it. At 260 career saves, she is the program's all-time leader in that category.

  • The Rams will wrap up regular season competition as they travel across town to take on rival Richmond in Atlantic-10 Conference competition on Sunday. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
