How It Happened

  • The Rams held a 4-0 lead before ODU's Tiffany Minor hit a shot from behind the arc to spark a 3-0 run before Adaeze Alaeze silenced their run.
  • Behind a three-pointer from Chadarryl Clay, VCU cut the Lady Monarch's lead to one, 18-17 with a little over three minutes before the break.
  • The Lady Monarchs held off the VCU rally and closed the half with Ashley Betz-White hitting a three to put ODU ahead 35-21.
  • After the break, ODU pushed the advantage, securing a 66-44 win.

Quotable

  • "It was a little bit of a tough outing. I think when they went on that run right before the second half, it was difficult for us to battle back into it. I thought the team has been playing hard, obviously there's some things that I definitely need to work on to get ready for our next game." – Head Coach Beth O'Boyle
  • "One thing we really talked about was that we needed to pressure the ball so they couldn't get easy looks. They made a good run on us, we got a little back on our heels and our ball pressure went down." – Head Coach Beth O'Boyle
  • "Every game for us is a learning experience and it shows some of the things that we need to work on. It's a learning process and it's a long season with a young team. We are building and we are going to keep getting after it, and in March we are going to be playing our best basketball." – Head Coach Beth O'Boyle
