TALKING POINTS
- Bolstered by dominant performances from sophomores Romana Kriskova and Kalah Jones, VCU set a school record for hitting percentage (.544) in a 3-0 win over Liberty in the opening match of the Kentucky Classic. The Rams spiked 49 kills on 79 attempts and committed just six hitting errors in the win.
- The previous school mark for hitting percentage in a match of .538 was set against Maryland Eastern-Shore on Oct. 23, 1993.
- Kriskova and Jones were nearly flawless. The duo combined to hit .805 with 33 kills. In the first set alone, Kriskova and Jones combined for 15 kills on 17 attempts.
- Kriskova provided 21 kills on 24 swings and committed just one error. Her 21 kills are the most by a Ram since October of 2011. She also provided four service aces and two blocks.
- Junior setter Cecilia Aragao directed VCU's robust offense and handed out 40 assists in the process. Defensively, junior libero Amanda Love added 13 digs.
