• Freshman Martina Samadan hit .385 with six kills and added four blocks as VCU won its sixth straight match and swept the season series with George Washington.
• The Rams out hit the Colonials .263 to .099.
• Senior outside hitter Kristin Boyd smacked nine kills and hit .250, while freshman Romana Kriskova provided eight kills and an ace for VCU.
• George Washington caught VCU on its heels in the second set and stormed to a 10-6 advantage. But a short time later, back-to-back kills by VCU senior Anett Farkas sparked a 4-0 run to tie the match at 12-12. The teams battled to a 22-all tie before kills by Samadan and Farkas put the Rams in control 24-22.
• VCU out-dug GWU 39-37 behind sophomore libero Amanda Love, who collected 16.

• Friday's victory gives the Rams 20 for the third time under Head Coach James Finley (2005, 2009). It's the ninth 20-win season in program history.
• VCU was out-blocked in the match 7-5. It's just the third time this year the Rams have trailed in that category.
• The Rams hit .263, their sixth straight contest over .250.
• VCU is 8-0 at home this season and has won 12 straight at the Stuart C. Siegel Center.
• Boyd surpassed 1,200 career kills in the win. She is just the second player in school history to reach the 1,200-kill plateau.
