Title: Volunteer Assistant Coach

David Meiklejohn begins his first season as the Volunteer Assistant for VCU men’s soccer in 2019.

Meiklejohn brings with him a wealth of coaching experience. Most recently, he was the Head of Youth Academy Goalkeeping for DC United. He also worked with the DC United first team goalkeepers where he would assist at first team training sessions. He was also a Volunteer Assistant Coach at University of Maryland.

Prior to his time with the Terrapins, Meiklejohn made a stop as an Assistant Coach at the University of Rhode Island in 2013. During his time with URI, he was the Director of Goalkeeping for Rams FC and Rhode Island ODP.   

He served as an Assistant Coach at Georgia State University from 2011-2013. During his time with the Panthers, the squad earned a trip to the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history.

Meiklejohn was a TopDrawerSoccer.com top 150 recruit as a youth goalkeeper and played collegiately at James Madison University.
