VCU COMPLETES WEEKEND SWEEP; WIN STREAK AT 10

The short story: Junior opposite Gina Tuzzolo supplied 11 kills as VCU cruised to its 10th consecutive win Sunday in The Bronx, N.Y.

OPENING VOLLEY

  • Tuzzolo hit .318 on 22 swings to lead VCU. She also recorded four blocks and three digs
  • VCU junior middle blocker Jasmin Sneed added five more blocks to her weekend total and produced nine kills while hitting .381. She committed just one hitting error in 21 attempts
  • Senior middle blocker Tori Baldwin provided eight kills and five blocks, while hitting .438 for the Black and Gold
  • On the back row, freshman libero Alyna Draper dug 15 balls, an average of five per set
  • Fordham's Kaitlin Morley led all players with 12 kills

THE DIFFERENCE

  • VCU dominated defensively again Sunday. The Black and Gold held Fordham to a .140 hitting percentage
  • VCU also outblocked Fordham 10-8, and held advantages in digs (49-46) and service aces (4-0)

  • VCU has won 25 straight matches against A-10 competition, a streak that dates back to the 2016 season
