RAMS DOWN NORFOLK STATE FOR SIXTH STRAIGHT WIN

TALKING POINTS
  • Sophomore Kalah Jones hammered 12 kills and hit .450 as VCU rolled to its season-high sixth straight victory Tuesday.
  • Jones also provided three blocks to a VCU front line that outblocked Norfolk State 14-2.
  • The Rams were dominant in nearly every facet of Tuesday's match and held the Spartans to a -.028 hitting percentage on the day.
  • Sophomore Romana Kriskova piled on 11 more kills to raise her season total to 385, which ranks 12th in school single-season history. She is 15 kills from becoming the 10th Ram to register 400 in a season.
  •  Redshirt freshman Kaitlyn LaMantia set 29 assists for VCU, which hit .283. She also supplied four blocks and four digs.
  • The Rams also received seven blocks, including two solos, from junior middle blocker Janelle Sykes.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • In four matches since taking over for the injured Cecilia Aragao, LaMantia has averaged 11.00 assists per set. The Rams are 4-0 and have hit .280 during that period.
  • Kriskova averaged 5.15 kills per set during VCU's four-match homestand.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Rams hit the road for a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference matches this weekend. First, VCU heads to Fairfax, Va. to rekindle an old Colonial Athletic Association rivalry with George Mason on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. A Saturday, Oct. 12 matchup with George Washington in Washington, D.C. is also on the docket.
