TALKING POINTS
  • Atlantic 10 kills leader Romana Kriskova added 17 more to her total Tuesday night and hit .519 in VCU's fifth win in six tries.
  • Junior Cecilia Aragao set 36 assists for an offense that hit .375 and registered 44 kills. Aragao added five blocks and three kills.
  • Sophomore Uzoamaka Ibeh continued her hot play of late, spiking seven kills while hitting .455. On the back line, junior libero Amanda Love provided a match-high 12 digs.
  • VCU hit .433 in the first set and .417 in the second on the way to a comfortable 2-0 lead. While the first set featured a pair of lead changes and 11 ties, the Rams surrendered a lead just once the remainder of the night.
TURNING POINT
The Rams trailed 22-19 in the first set, but back-to-back kills by Kalah Jones and Kriskova, followed by an Aragao and Janelle Sykes double block tied the score. Two plays later, Aragao and Kriskova sparked another 3-0 burst with consecutive kills to secure a 25-23 win.

  • In her last three matches, Aragao is averaging 10.91 assists per set. Over that same period, Kriskova is supplying 5.45 kills per set.
  • The Rams are 3-1 in true road contests this season, their only loss a 3-2 decision at No. 21 Kentucky.
