RICHMOND, Va. – The VCU Volleyball team's 2013 season is off to a hot start, one it owes in large part to sophomore Romana Kriskova.

An Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman last season, Kriskova picked up where she left off to lead the Rams to a 3-0 record and the IUPUI Hampton Inn Invitational Championship in Indianapolis over the weekend. A 6-foot-3 outside hitter, Kriskova averaged a robust 4.42 kills per set and hit .278 as the Rams topped Florida Gulf Coast, IUPUI and Illinois State.
In Saturday's title-clinching 3-1 win over Illinois State, Kriskova spiked a career-high 20 kills. In addition, Kriskova fired eight service aces on the weekend and averaged 1.42 digs and 1.00 blocks per set.
Kriskova and the Rams return to the court on Friday, Sept. 6 at the Kentucky Classic when they take on the host Kentucky Wildcats and Liberty.
