TALKING POINTS
  • VCU completed an undefeated October (9-0) with a 3-0 sweep of La Salle.
  • Senior Anett Farkas led the Rams with 14 kills and three blocks. She helped stake VCU to a 1-0 lead with six kills on nine attempts in the first set.
  • Freshman middle blocker Martina Samadan spiked four kills and did not commit a hitting error in 18 attempts. She also provided seven blocks for the Rams.
  • VCU out blocked La Salle 12.5 to 2.0 and out hit the Explorers .300 to .066.
  • Four Rams recorded at least nine digs, including sophomore Amanda Love, who booked 14.

  • In addition to its nine straight October victories, VCU has lost just one set this month (27-1). The Rams have won 17 sets in a row.
  • Samadan now has 147 blocks and needs 11 to set the VCU single-season record. She has recorded at least 5.0 blocks in 16 matches this season.
  •  Freshman Romana Kriskova served up three more aces Saturday and now leads the team with 27.
