HAMPTON ROADS, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University Volleyball Coach James Finley never shies away from an opportunity to share his wealth of coaching knowledge. On Thursday, he'll have another chance.

Finley will serve as a clinician at the Virginia High School League coaches clinic at the state convention in Hampton Roads.
Along with VCU Assistant Coach Nick Petrovic, Finley will be teaching coaches how to maximize skill development and game knowledge with limited staff, space and time. It's wisdom Finley has gained over an impressive coaching career that began in small high schools in rural West Texas and helped deliver VCU's first league championship in 20 years in 2005.
The clinic begins Thursday at 10 a.m. For more information, call (804) 615-1556.
Finley ranks second all-time in volleyball coaching victories at VCU with 126. He took over the program in 2005 and immediately engineered a 16-win turnaround, the second-largest in the nation that season. He has led the Rams to the Colonial Athletic Association Championship Match four times in seven seasons and directed VCU to the school's first CAA regular season title in 2009.
