BOYD, ARAGAO NAMED TO ALL-STATE TEAMS
RICHMOND, Va. – Junior Kristin Boyd (Wilmington, N.C.) and freshman Cecilia Aragao (Recifie, Brazil) added to their trophy cases when the VCU duo was named to Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State Teams recently.
A Second Team All-CAA selection, Boyd led VCU with 3.44 kills per set and hit .209. She also averaged 1.11 digs and 0.70 blocks per set. Boyd's breakout season also moved her into the top 10 on the Rams' career kills list with 961. In addition to her All-CAA honors, Boyd was named to the COBRA Magazine All-East Region Team.
Aragao took over as VCU's setter in preseason practice and directed one of the most potent offensive attacks in the CAA. She also led the Rams with 28 service aces.
