RAMS TO HOST VCU SPRING FLING VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

VCU 2011 Spring Roster

RICHMOND, Va. –Virginia Commonwealth University is set to host the VCU/Third Degree Sportswear Spring Fling Volleyball Tournament at the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center on Sunday, April 10. The action kicks off at 10 a.m. and will conclude around 5 p.m. Admission is free.

The Rams, who reached the CAA Tournament semifinals last season, will host an exciting field that includes ACC power North Carolina. The Tar Heels placed second in the ACC and finished with a 25-10 overall mark.
 
In-state rivals Virginia and Norfolk State, as well as CAA-foe Towson and East Carolina will also be in action on the Siegel Center floor.
 
VCU fans are invited to attend and get a preview of some the Rams' rising stars, including Kristin Boyd (Wilmington, N.C.), Marisa Low (Carlsbad, Calif.), Jessica Ojukwu (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Ciara Brown (Fort Myers, Fla.).  
 
The Rams finished 9-5 in CAA action a season ago after negotiating the most competitive non-conference schedule in program history. VCU has won 109 matches in six years under the direction of Head Coach James Finley, the second most of any coach in Rams' volleyball history.
