The VCU volleyball team wrapped up one of the toughest schedules in the country this past fall. With a young team coming into the 2010 season, the peak of VCU volleyball is still yet to come.

Redshirt Sophomore Kristin Boyd, has been a leader on the court for the Rams the past two seasons, and will look to lead a more experienced Ram roster in the fall of 2011. Boyd caught up with VCU Athletics Communication Student Assistant Andrew Phillips to see what is keeping her busy in the off-season

AP:  Why did you decide to come to VCU?
The girls, they were like my sisters, and I grew an attachment to some of them before I even committed. I also liked the city campus.

AP:  What is the best part about being on the VCU volleyball team?
KB: The connections

AP:  Who is the most influential person in your life?
There are a lot of people who I would consider to be influential in my life, but I think the main person would have to be Ivana Rich. She helped me get through a lot and has always been there for me and had my back. She has also pushed me both mentally and physically which have helped to shape who I am today.

AP:  Do you have any hidden talents?
KB: No hidden talents, but I do touch 10'7.

AP:  Where is your favorite place on campus, and why?
KB: Surprisingly, Ackell because I can be in my room by myself, and just relax.

AP:  Have you ever met anyone famous?
Maya Angelou

AP:  If you could travel to any place in the world where would it be, and why?
Jamaica, I heard it was really pretty.

AP: What is the number one thing on your holiday wish list?
Coach Purse
