GETTING TO KNOW: JUNIOR COURTNEY HOTT

The VCU volleyball team wrapped up its regular season last week with a decisive 3-1 win over NCAA Tournament participant, Albany. The Rams, played one of the toughest non-conference schedule in the country will look to carry that experience into next year.

Junior Courtney Hott, was a key part of this year's team, and she will be a key returner on next year's squad. Hott recently caught up with VCU Athletic Communication Assistant Andrew Phillips to see what keeps her busy off of the court.

AP: Why did you decide to come to VCU?
CH:
It was just the right distance from home (Fredericksburg), and I had been watching the team for a few years already. I felt like I could be a part of the program.

AP: What is the best part about being on the VCU volleyball team?
CH:
Getting a chance to travel around the country.

AP: What is your favorite place on campus?
CH:
That's hard... I'll have to go with Cary Street Gym. I go and run there all the time in the off season. Great stress relief.

AP: What is one quote that inspires you?
CH: I can't pick. I love quotes. I find them from music or websites and write them anywhere. Note margins, post-its, my hands....

AP: What VCU team would you be on if you weren't on the volleyball team?
CH:
Track!! I threw shot put and discus in high school and miss it now. I've wished I could go to practice one day with the throwers since I have been here.

AP: If you could have dinner with any three people who would they be, and why?
CH: My brother, because I don't get to see him enough anymore. Einstein, just because it could be some cool conversation, and Scooby Doo, because who wouldn't want to have dinner with a talking dog?

AP: If you could go on vacation to any place in the world where would you go?
CH:
Greece and Italy. I was a Latin nerd in high school and would love to go look at Rome and all of the temples.

AP:  What actress would play you in a movie and why?
CH: Oh, I don't know. Do you know of any 6'2, blonde actresses?
