RICHMOND, Va. - The VCU volleyball team will be making yet another trip to the CAA Tournament this weekend, but before they head north to the University of Delaware, the Rams will host Hampton on Tuesday and are set to celebrate "Senior Night".

The Black & Gold will honor seniors Mariel Frey and Kelsie Clegg, two players that have been huge for the Rams this year. Prior to her big night, Frey sat down with VCU Athletic Communications Student Assistant Andrew Phillips to give us a look at her life off the court.

AP: Why did you decide to come to VCU?
I decided to come to VCU because I really liked the campus and the girls on the team when I came to visit. Also VCU has my major, Elementary Education.

AP: Up to now what has been the best moment of your career at VCU?
The best moment of my career at VCU was also my worst moment of my career. Last year we hosted the tournament and were regular season champions. We were the first seed in the CAA Tournament, but we ended up losing in five, after winning the first two sets against George Mason. So they got the rings and they got to go to NCAA's. That is the worst part. The good part in all of this was that I had my career high kills during this match, and I also made the CAA All-Tournament Team, but really the best part was that I had one more kill than the girl who was MVP of the season.

AP: What is your favorite thing to do on road trips with your team?

AP:  What is the best part about VCU campus?
The best part of VCU campus is that it is not that big, so it doesn't take that long to get to class.

AP: What is one thing that you don't leave home without?
I travel pretty light, but i guess i would say my cell phone and my credit card.

AP: What are your plans for post graduation?
I plan on getting my Masters at VCU in Elementary Education, and then I guess I'll be looking for a teaching job somewhere, not exactly sure where. Possibly in Virginia or Pennsylvania, or maybe somewhere out West! I am also going to be a grad assistant next year for the volleyball team.

AP: Do you have any hidden talents?
I can make a box of Oreos disappear.

AP: What actress would play you in a movie and why?
This is a hard one, but I guess I'll go with Cameron Diaz, because she is fun, athletic, and a little goofy. The only thing is she would have to dye her hair, because I am no blonde.
