LOW’S HIGH NOTE; SOPHOMORE NAMED DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

RICHMOND, Va. – Fresh off one of her best performances of 2010, sophomore libero Marisa Low (Carlsbad, Calif.) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association's Defensive Player of the Week.

Low provided 18 digs in VCU's 3-0 sweep of William & Mary on Saturday in Williamsburg, Va., an average of 6.0 digs per set. Her effort helped the Rams hold the Tribe to a paltry .110 hitting percentage. It's the seventh time this season Low has topped 15 digs in a match.

A 2009 CAA All-Rookie selection, Low is averaging a team-high 3.54 digs per set, sixth-best in the CAA this season.

Low and the Rams return to the court on Friday, Oct. 8 when they travel to Newark, Del. to face CAA preseason favorite Delaware at 7 p.m.
