RICHMOND, Va. – Since the first time she laced up her spikes as part of the VCU Track & Field program, junior Kiara Porter has been on a mission to take the Rams to the next level.

After earning All-American status both last year and already this year during the indoor season, Porter has done just that on the track. It doesn't stop on the track for the Yorktown, Va. native though. Her hardwork in the classroom has landed her Academic All-Atlantic 10 honors for the second straight season.

Porter currently owns every VCU sprints record, both indoor and outdoor. She helped lead the Rams to their straight top-three finish at the outdoor conference meet with a team-leading 38 points. She was named the meet's Most Outstanding Track Performer for the second consecutive year.

In the classroom, she is a business finance major and holds a 3.48 cumulative grade point average. She's earned AD's Honor Roll every semester.

Porter and her teammates are in Princeton, N.J. this weekend at the ECAC/IC4A Championships, the last meet leading up to NCAA East Preliminary Rounds.
