PRINCETON, N.J. – The VCU Men's & Women's Track & Field program traveled to the 2012 ECAC & IC4A Track & Field Championships held at Princeton University over the weekend.
The VCU women finished in 32nd place overall, while the men garnered a 53rd place finish.
The Rams best individual finish came from freshman Kiara Porter, who placed seventh in the finals of the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.89 seconds.
Porter also helped the Black & Gold post their best overall performance, as a member of the 4x100 meter relay that came in third place. Porter teamed up with freshman Alexis Stroman, freshman Nicole Grasty and junior Dionna Hayes that crossed the finish line in 45.50 seconds.
Redshirt sophomore Jaleesa Williams came in 13th place in the women's shot put, with a heave of 13.59 meters.
Redshirt sophomore Jessica Williams earned a top 20 finish in the discus, with a toss of 42.54 meters, which garnered her 18th place honors.
Redshirt sophomore Chaneka Perry came away with a 20th place finish in the triple jump, leaping 11.78 meters.
On the men's side, junior Alex Hinton earned 17th place honors in the 800 meters, crossing the finish line in 1:52.25 seconds.
Freshman Brandon Ruffin posted a 26th place finish in the men's shot put, with a heave of 15.14 meters. Freshman Ryan Coles followed shortly behind with a toss of 14.71 meter, which was good enough for a 29th place finish.
