RICHMOND, Va. – VCU women's tennis earned two weekly distinctions from the Atlantic 10 on Wednesday, as the conference announced junior Anna Rasmussen as the Co-Player of the Week and freshman Paola Exposito Diaz Delgado as Rookie of the Week.

Rasmussen went undefeated in both singles and doubles play across three matches throughout the week. Partnering with freshman Melissa Ifidzhen, Rasmussen won three straight matches at the No. 1 doubles position, dropping a total of just seven games. The duo leads the Rams with eight doubles wins this season. In singles play, Rasmussen won two consecutive matches against power-five opposition in straight sets. On Feb. 3, she defeated Pitt's Luisa Varon 6-2, 7-6, and on Feb. 4 she topped West Virginia's Christina Jordan 6-4, 6-1.

Diaz Delgado collected her second Rookie of the Week honor of the young season after featuring at the No. 2 singles position for the Rams. Also excelling against power-five competition, she defeated Pitt's Camila Moreno 7-6, 6-2, and West Virginia's Anne-Sophie Courteau 6-2, 6-0.

Massachusetts' Ana Yrazusta shared the Co-Player of the Week honors with Rasmussen.

The Rams, who hold a 4-2 record, return to action on Feb. 14 when they host Morgan State at Thalhimer Tennis Center. First serve is slated for 3 p.m.
