The short story: The Rams fell short to the Tribe of William & Mary on Saturday afternoon in their final home match of the season. Sophomore Janina Braun continued her dominant singles play with a victory on the first court over Ekaterina Stepanova in consecutive sets. Braun is now 22-7 on the singles court.
FIRST SERVE
- After securing the doubles point, the Tribe took an early 1-0 lead. William & Mary then recorded the first two points in singles play to take a 3-0 advantage.
- Braun defeated Ekaterina Stepanova, 6-4, 6-3 to pull the Rams within two points.
- With a 3-1 lead, William & Mary took the remaining three points to end the match with a 6-1 victory.
- Redshirt-Freshman Isabella Capato Camargo battled Maria Groener on the sixth court in a marathon three set match. After dropping the first set 6,2, she bounced back to take thesecond set 6-2, but ultimately fell in the third and final set with a, 6-2, 2-6, 13-11 score.
