RAMS FALL AT THIRD-RANKED DUKE, 7-0

DURHAM, N.C. – Tobacco Road is a tough place to play no matter what sport it is and unfortunately, the VCU women's tennis team found that out on Saturday afternoon.

Facing the third-ranked team in the country, the Rams dropped just their third loss of the year, 7-0 to the Blue Devils.

VCU didn't go quietly, battling Duke to the end of many of their matches, including Alex and Ana Bara challenging the 18th-ranked doubles combo of Beatrice Capra and Rachel Kahan, but the Blue Devils tandem pulled away with a 9-8 (7-5) win to secure the doubles point.

Duke would keep momentum on their side during the singles competition, winning all three matches in singles set.

VCU returns to action next Friday when they travel to Charlottesville to battle the Cavaliers of Virginia. First serve is set for 4p.m.
