RICHMOND, Va. – After spending last weekend on the road at the ITA Kickoff Weekend, the VCU women's tennis team was happy to be back at home at Thalhimer Tennis Center.

Their comfort at home carried into their play as the Black & Gold handled N.C. State, 6-1, en route to their sixth win of the season.

VCU took control of the day early on, jumping out to a 1-0 lead over NC State with a sweep in doubles competition.  The Rams finished up the day with four wins in singles competition, including victories by senior Ana Bara, sophomore Daria Yakauleva, sophomore Olga Terteac, and freshman Alena Gerasimova.

The Rams improve to 6-1 on the season, while NC State falls to 3-2 this spring.
