CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- The Virginia Commonwealth University women's tennis team ventured to Charlottesville over the weekend for the University of Virginia Fall Invitational. Players from 10 schools competed in the event with four 16-player singles draws and two 16-player doubles draws.

Coming off of her debut weekend in Williamsburg, freshman Daria Yakauleva (Minsk, Belarus) had another solid weekend of play with an overall singles record of 3-1.

Sophomore Manuela Pietzuch (Hechingen, Germany) also had a noble 3-1 mark in which all three wins were straight set victories.

These two young stars joined forces to trample their opponents in the Flight B doubles bracket. Starting the charge with an 8-2 win, the pair continued to dominate with records of 8-3 and 8-6. The final match resulted in an 8-2 victory over Marshall's Maria Voscekova and Catherine Kellner.

The next outing for the Rams will be on October 8th in Norfolk, Va. at the Old Dominion University Fall Invitational.
