This weekend Jerabek recorded one goal and an assist, leading the Rams to two conference victories. In the Rams 4-1 win over cross-town rival Richmond on Thursday, Jerabek recorded an assist after stealing the ball from a Spider's defender and playing a beautiful through ball to Idelys Vazquez, who did the rest. She followed that up by scoring the game-winning goal in the 65th minute of VCU's 1-0 win over UMass.
Jerabek's big weekend ended with her being tied for second in the conference for goals (9) and third in the conference in points (23). She leads the team in shots (58), shots on goal (29), and is tied for the team lead in assists (5) as well. The Rams have won every match this season when Jerabek has scored at least one goal
Sanderson registered nine total saves in VCU's two wins this weekend. She lead VCU's defense in Thursday's 4-1 win over Richmond, making four saves. She followed that up by recording her sixth clean sheet of the season in Sunday's 1-0 win over UMass, adding five more saves.
Sanderson's best saves of the weekend came in a two-minute sequence when she registered back-to-back saves in the 79th and 80th minutes to preserve the Rams 1-0 lead in a game they would end up winning. She now has a total of 46 saves on the season.
VCU has now won consecutive matches, including seven of eight A-10 matches, bringing them to 7-1 in conference play and 12-3 on the season overall. With the win on Sunday, VCU also clinched a spot in the upcoming A-10 tournament beginning October 27th.
Sanderson and Jerabek look to continue their solid play this season when the Rams travel to Rhode Island this Thursday, Oct. 18.
