Sophomore midfielder Samantha Jerabek was named the Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week after her two goal performance against High Point. She recorded a team-high seven shots in the game.
Her first goal came on a header after a well-timed cross by Susanna Friedrichs early in the first half. The goal gave VCU a 1-0 advantage in just the 7th minute of play.
Jerabek later combined with Karen Lohrmann in the 50th minute to push VCU's lead to 3-1 and seal the victory. On what was the play of the day, Lohrmann crossed the ball into Jerabek as she scored her second goal of the game, also on a header.
