DELL NAMED SECOND TEAM VaSID ALL-STATE

RICHMOND – Megan Dell punctuated a senior campaign in 2017, as she earned Second Team Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State honors as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Dell, selected as a defender, had a breakout final three games for the Rams after a great regular season that earned her Atlantic 10 All-Academic honors. She put up a career-high 12 points, which was a team-high for the Rams, scoring five goals and two assists. Her three post-season goals punched her ticket to the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team. Her clutch play helped VCU reach the Atlantic 10 Championship game, dropping to La Salle in double overtime 1-0.

Appearing in 78 career games in her career, Dell started each one of those 78. She would end her career with 10 career goals and four assists for 24 career points. Dell is an honor’s student at VCU, majoring in Biomedical Engineering, also minoring in Chemistry and Mathematics. She has made the Dean’s List six times, finishing her career with a 3.82 GPA.

VaSID names 27 all-state teams in 15 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a University or conference in the state of Virginia.
