RAMS HONORED FOR SUCCESS IN CLASSROOM WITH NSCAA TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD

RICHMOND, Va. – The VCU women's soccer team not only succeeds on the field, but also in the classroom.

Not only have the Rams reached the conference championship match in two of the past three seasons, but they were awarded yet another NSCAA Team Academic Award. It was their fourth straight year of receiving the award.

A total of 869 teams from Divisions I, II and III earned the accolade after posting a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2012-13 academic year.

First-year Head Coach Lindsey Vanderspiegel led the Rams to an 8-8-3 mark and a berth in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. In the classroom, VCU posted a 3.06 cumulative GPA during the 2012-13 academic year.
