VCU’s Moik Named Atlantic 10 Women’s Soccer Co-Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – After scoring three goals in the first 22 minutes Sunday to help VCU cap an undefeated weekend, sophomore Natalie Moik was named Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week on Monday.

Moik, who finished the weekend with five shots, three on goal, including the game-winner against Campbell, helped the Rams post back-to-back shutouts en route to capturing the VCU Tournament title.  The Black and Gold defeated Maine 2-0 on Friday night before handing the Camels a 4-0 loss on Sunday.

All three of Moik's goals were the first of her career as she appeared in just three matches in 2012.

Including its two shutouts over the weekend, VCU has not allowed a goal in 220 minutes, outscoring its opponents 7-0 during that stretch.

VCU travels to former CAA rival and Atlantic 10 newcomer George Mason on Friday, Sept. 20.  Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.  The Rams return to Sports Backers Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 22 against Elon at 1 p.m.
