HARRISONBURG, Va. – Versatility is always an asset that coaches value highly.

That's exactly what helped land sophomore Bre White (Manassas, Va.) (pictured, right) and freshman Bex Kunz (Boise, Idaho) on the JMU/Comfort Inn Invitational All-Tournament team after posting outstanding weekends for the Virginia Commonwealth University women's soccer team.

"Both Bre and Bex had great weekends, displaying their athleticism and ability to play multiple positions throughout the two games," Co-Head Coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak said. "Bre is transitioning to the forward position and is really making huge strides, while Bex was forced to move to the backline due to some injuries and she was outstanding."

The Rams finished the weekend with a tough 2-1 loss to Villanova, but picked up a point with a scoreless tie against St. John's on Sunday afternoon.

"I'm really proud of the way our girls played all weekend," Robert Sahaydak said. "Against two very high caliber programs, we were able to play right with both of them and have a chance to win both games. For this early in the year, we're very excited about what we've seen so far."

White tallied the Rams' lone goal of the weekend when sophomore Carly Edgcomb (Princeton, N.J.) fed her in the 75th minute to bring VCU even with Villanova at 1-1. She finished the weekend with five shots, three of which were on target.

Kunz was a huge asset for the Black & Gold this weekend, proving to be a dual threat at the forward position on Friday and on the back line in VCU's shutout of St. John's on Sunday afternoon.
