BOUCHARD EARNS PRESEASON ALL-CAA HONORS
RICHMOND, Va. – Even before senior Myriam
Bouchard of the Virginia Commonwealth University women's soccer
team kicked off her final year in the Black & Gold, she has
already started accumulating accolades.
Bouchard was one of 11 players named to the Preseason
All-Colonial Athletic Association team, chosen by the league's head
coaches.
"Myriam is the heart and soul of our program," Co-Head Coach
Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak said. "She's an incredible leader. Her
intensity and approach she brings to every game is something that
is contagious."
The Quebec City, Quebec native has been a stifling defender
every since joining the Rams in 2006. She is a two-time All-CAA
honoree, with Second-Team accolades in 2009 and Third-Team
accolades in 2007.
In her three seasons at VCU, she's played in 59 games, 22 of
those resulted in the opposition not getting on the scoreboard.
2010 marks the first time since 2007 that Bouchard will return to the back line with three other returners. That was the same year the Rams set the school record with 11 shutouts.
