NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball sophomore Tera Reed was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Preseason Third Team as announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Reed became the first freshman to lead the program in scoring last season since Quanitra Hollingsworth did so in 2005-06. She was just the seventh freshman to achieve that feat in program history. Reed finished the 2017-18 season averaging 13.8 points per game overall and 14.1 points per game in A-10 play. She was the first VCU player to be named to the A-10 All-Rookie team since Keira Robinson earned the honor in 2013-14.

Reed was named the A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week on Jan. 29 when she averaged 19.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds against La Salle and Richmond. Reed led VCU in scoring in 17 of its 29 games last season and recorded four games of 20 or more points. She also posted four double-doubles on the year and led the team in rebounding during A-10 play at 5.3 per game. Overall, she ranked second on the team with 5.8 rebounds per game.

The A-10 also released its Preseason Poll in which VCU was picked to finish sixth out of the 14-team league.  The Rams return their top four scorers from last season, a team which was the youngest in the Atlantic 10 last season.
