RICHMOND, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference has released its 2018-19 women's basketball conference schedule. VCU faces seven teams who made postseason appearances last season along with home games against Richmond, Dayton and Saint Louis.
The Rams will open their A-10 slate at home against 2018 WNIT participant Saint Joseph's on Jan. 5. The Rams and Hawks met three times last season including the A-10 Women's Basketball Championship First Round.
VCU will host La Salle on Jan. 8 at the E.J. Wade Arena before playing three of its next four games on the road. VCU will travel to face rival Richmond on Jan. 12 followed by a trip to WNIT Sweet 16 participant Fordham on Jan. 16.
The Rams return home to face Rhode Island on Jan. 20 then head north on I-95 to face defending A-10 Champion and NCAA Tournament participant George Washington on Jan. 23.
VCU hosts another 2018 WNIT participant in Saint Louis on Jan. 27 followed by Massachusetts on Jan. 30. The Rams circle back with a visit to Saint Joseph's on Feb. 3 and continue north to face St. Bonaventure on Feb. 6.
VCU hosts back-to-back home games against the Spiders on Feb. 9 followed by NCAA at-large selection and 2018 A-10 Regular Season Champion Dayton on Feb. 14. VCU then travels to face a trio of WNIT teams all on the road in George Mason on Feb. 17, Duquesne on Feb. 23 and a rematch with Saint Louis on Feb. 27.
VCU concludes the regular season at home against Davidson on March 2. The Atlantic 10 Championship First Round will be hosted at campus sites again this season with the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship final games Friday through Sunday at Duquesne.
