RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University forward Courtney Hurt (pictured, right) on Monday was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week for the third time this season after guiding the Rams to a pair of CAA victories last week.

Hurt averaged a double-double with 26.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game and helped VCU (8-5) remain one of two unbeaten teams in CAA play at 3-0.  The junior poured in a school record-tying 35 points to go along with 13 rebounds against UNC Wilmington on Thursday before adding 17 points and seven boards versus George Mason on Sunday.

The Conyers, Ga., native, who has surpassed the 30-point plateau three times this season, currently leads the nation in both rebounding (13.3 rpg) and double-doubles (12), while ranking second in scoring with 24.3 ppg.

Hurt has received three of the last five CAA Player of the Week awards.

VCU returns to action on Jan. 13 for a 7 p.m., matchup at Towson.  The Rams then welcome Northeastern to the Verizon Wireless Arena on Jan. 16 at Noon.  The game will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic.
