The short story: The Rams placed eighth out of 13 teams, led by sophomore Bryce Catlett. They averaged 20:04.14, just 15 seconds behind the average time of seventh-place Richmond.

THE FINISH LINE

  • Catlett placed 30th out of 110 runners in 19:05.2. Friday's race was Catlett's first collegiate foray at 6,000 meters.
  • Villagomaz placed 40th with a time of 19:55.2. 
  • VCU's third runner was Austin Conway, who placed 62nd in 20:09.4. Freshman James de la Rama was just off Conway's pace in 20:18.3. He finished 68th overall.
  • Senior Bismillah Alidost was 85th to the line, running a 20:55.6. 
  • Jordan Fountain rounded out the Rams' lineup in 20:59.5 and placed just two spots off Alidost's pace.
