VCU MEN FINISH SEASON AT NCAA REGIONAL MEET

Meet: NCAA Division I Southeast Region Cross Country Championships
Location: Earlysville, Va. (Panorama Farms)
Distance: 10,000 meters

The Short Story:  Four VCU men competed at the NCAA Regional at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va. on Friday, Oct. 11. Freshman Bryce Catlett lead the way for the Rams for the fifth time this season and was followed by Bismillah Alidost, Lucas Sidle, and Brandon Wells.  Given that VCU fielded four runners, the Rams were ineligible for team scoring.

THE FINISH LINE

  • Catlett finished 116th in his first NCAA Regional performance.  He crossed the line in 32:00.8 to complete his first collegiate 10,000-meter run.  His 8,000-meter split was 26:06, beating his previous 8k best of 26:17.
  • Alidost ran the race in 32:43.2 and finished 152nd in the 10,000-meter run. 
  • Sidle finished 177th in his first NCAA Regional as a Ram.  He finished with a time of 33:29.2. 
  • Brandon Wells, the third freshman to run for the Rams in Earlysville, placed 196th with a time of 35:22.0.
