VOLLBRECHT NAMED A-10 MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND TIME

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Men's Track & Field athlete Jaekob Vollbrecht was honored by the Atlantic 10 Conference on Monday when they announced him as the Men's Rookie of the Week.

Vollbrecht, a freshman from Spotsylvania, Va., earned the honor after a weekend in which he set a new personal best in the Shot Put, posting a throw of 17.13m. His mark won him the event and was more than a meter further than the second place finisher at the VMI Winter Relays. Additionally, Vollbrecht placed within the top-5 in the Shot Put, recording a throw of 15.41.

This marks the second time this season that Vollbrecht has been named the A-10 Men's Rookie of the Week. He earned his first selection after the Rams competed at the VMI Keydet Invitational on Jan. 18-19.

The Rams will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 23 when they travel to Fairfax, Va. for the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships.
