The Short Story: After a month long break the Rams were back on the track to compete in the Father Diamond Invitational meet in Fairfax, Va. VCU's men's team took second place out of a field of four squads.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Bryce Catlett ran to a first place finish in the 3,000-meter with a time of 8:55.77, a personal best for the sophomore. Catlett also took second in the one mile.
  • In the 500-meter seniors Khalil Shepard and Devon Thompson took first and third place respectively. Shepard crossed the line 1:05.26.
  • Sophomore Chukwuezugo Aguolu ran the 400-meter dash in 50.16, shattering his time from last year's Indoor Atlantic 10 Championship by seven seconds. His effort earned him a second overall finish. Coming in two spots behind Chukwuezugo was senior Zayd Abdul-Ali with a time of 51.26.
  • The men's 4x400 and 4x800-meter relay teams each took second place.
  • Freshman Gregory Lucas-Roscoe edged out a fifth place spot in the long jump clearing a distance of 6.76 meters.
