RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Track and Field will host its 18th annual Ram Invitational on Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18. This year's meet will be held over the course of two days, which is a change from last year's single-day event.

The meet will start at 4 p.m. on Friday with the hammer throw. Running events will begin at 5 p.m. with the women's 200-meter dash. Saturday commences with women's discus at 10 a.m. There will be an alumni 4x100-meter relay at 10:40 a.m. followed by the National Anthem at 10:55 a.m. The women's 4x400-meter relay is set to go off at 11 a.m.

The meet will feature Atlantic 10 rival George Mason, James Madison, Hampton, Tiffin, Virginia State, and Virginia Union. George Mason, Virginia State, and Virginia Union each competed in the 2016 Ram Invite.

VCU is coming off a strong performance at the ECAC-IC4A Indoor Championships on March 4 and 5. Nichelle Scott led the women's team, breaking her own school record in the 800-meter run and winning the event.

On the men's side, the 4x400-meter relay team broke the school record in the event in Boston, Massachusetts with a time of 3:11.43. The team, made up of Bigal Harrison, Nicholas Buckingham, Kahlil Shepard, and Devon Thompson, finished second overall.
