HALL OF FAME TENNIS PLAYER NAMED PRESIDENT OF CSX

Richmond, Va. - A major focal point within the VCU athletic department is to help student-athletes succeed both on and off the field, or in the case of Fredrik Eliasson, the court. Eliasson was a member of the Rams' Men's Tennis team from 1990-94, and has recently been named president of CSX Transportation.

Based in Jacksonville, Florida, CSX is a major railway that owns and operates roughly 21,000 miles of railroad primarily on the east coast.

In his 22 years at CSX, Eliasson has held multiple positions. Prior to being named president, he held the title of executive vice president and chief of sales and marketing since 2015.

During his career he accumulated 99 singles wins and played a major role in the three Metro Conference Championships. While succeeding on the court, he received a bachelor's degree in finance and a master's of business administration from VCU.

Eliasson competed in the NCAA tournament in 1992 and 1993, and was inducted into the VCU Hall of Fame in 2000.
