RICHMOND, Va. - With only a few months left in his collegiate tennis career, it sure seems that senior Max Wennakoski has saved his best tennis for last.

The Helsinki, Finland native has reeled off a 6-1 record in the first month of the spring season and enters this weekend ranked #14 in the latest ITA singles poll. It's the highest ranking in nearly 10 years for any member of the VCU Men's tennis program.

Wennakoski is 18-6 overall this year and has two wins over top-40 players in the country, most recently breezing by Drake's Anis Ghorbel, 6-4, 6-1. Ghorbel was ranked #35 entering that match.

VCU returns to the courts this weekend when it hosts Michigan State and N.C. State at Thalhimer Tennis Center. The Rams and Spartans battle it out at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
