SEOUL, Korea – Former VCU standout Frank Moser is like the Energizer Bunny. Every weekend he's traveling from place to place, marching through doubles tournaments.
He's not just playing in these tournaments, he's winning them as he picked up his third doubles title of the year this past weekend, capturing the Samsung Securities Cup with playing partner Rameez Junaid of Austria.
It was the 10th anniversary of the tournament, which is part of the ATP Challenger Tour.
Moser and his partner were the fourth seed headed into the weekend and started the tournament off with a 6-3, 3-6, (12-10) victory over Korea's Hong Chung and Ji-Sung Nam. The duo continued its run with a 6-3, 7-6 (1) win over Japan's Tatsuma Ito and Takao Suzuki in the quarterfinals.
Facing the top seeded doubles combination of Yves Allegro (Switzerland) and Martin Slanar (Australia), Moser and Junaid battled their way to a 6-7 (5), 6-3 (10-4) victory to reach the finals.
The finals proved to be the easiest victory for the former Ram, cruising to a 6-3, 6-4 win over Canada's Vasek Pospisil and Adil Shamasdin.
