MOSER TAKES HOME CITTA DI COMO DOUBLES TITLE
Frank Moser's ATP Player Profile
COMO, Italy – Frank Moser is still thought of as one of the
best players to ever come through the Virginia Commonwealth
University men's tennis program. His career was marked by
stellar singles play and an incredible talent on the doubles
side.
That talent on the doubles court hasn't left Moser and he
displayed that this past week when he teamed with David Skoch of
the Czech Republic to capture the Citta Di Como Doubles Title.
Moser, a native of Baden-Baden, Germany, has continuously risen
in the world's double rankings over the past five years and
entered last week in the top-150 doubles players.
Moser and Skoch got through a tough opening round match with a
6-7 (7), 7-6 (3), 10-5 victory over Robin Haase and Thomas
Schoorel.
The quarterfinal matchup was a little easier with a 7-6 (8), 6-4
win over Yves Allegro and Jesse Huta Galung, followed by a grueling
2-6, 7-5, 10-5 semifinal win over Juan Martin Aranguren and Diego
Junqueiro.
In the championship match, the duo dropped the first set 7-5 to Martin Emmrich and Mateus Kowalczyk, but rallied for a 7-6 (2) win in the second and a 10-5 tiebreaking victory to capture the title.
