RAMS GET BACK ON TRACK WITH 5-2 WIN OVER SMU
RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia
Commonwealth University men's tennis team returned to
Thalhimer Tennis Center on Thursday looking to get back on the
winning track.
Behind a strong showing on the singles side, the Rams did just
that, rolling to a 5-2 victory over SMU, improving to 8-6 on the
year.
The Mustangs were able to sweep all three doubles matches to take
a 1-0 advantage, but freshman Krisztian Krocsko (Budapest,
Hungary) quickly turned the momentum in the Black &
Gold's direction with a 6-1, 6-1 sweep of David Costa at #2
singles.
VCU would keep things rolling with singles wins by Thibaut
Charron (Sens, France), Max Wennakoski (Helsinki,
Finland), Tim Johanssen (Hohenlockstedt,
Germany) and Camill Salomon (Limoges,
France) to lock up the much needed victory.
The Rams will look to continue the winning ways next week as they
travel to the Blue-Gray Classic in Montgomery, Ala. Play begins on
Thursday, March 18th.
