RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Men's Soccer's Siad Haji and Ulrik Edvardsen added to their resumes as they were named to the United Soccer Coaches First Team and Third Team All-Southeast Region Teams, respectively.
"Congrats to Siad and Ulrik for being recognized as two of the nation's top players. A well-deserved honor," said head coach Dave Giffard.
Haji, a Manchester, N.H. native, earned Atlantic 10 First Team honors, as well as being named the Midfielder of the Year earlier this season. He added to these awards by being named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region First Team earlier this week.
Haji played a key role in the Rams' success this season as he logged five goals, 10 assists and four game-winning goals this season. His four game-winning goals are tied for first in the A-10 while his 10 assists rank second. Haji was also named A-10 Offensive Player of the Week twice throughout the season.
Edvardsen, a sophomore defender from Bergen, Norway, has made an immediate impact since joining VCU last year. This year, Edvardsen logged one goal and one assist and played a strong defensive role for VCU.
To go along with his All-Southeast Region Third Team honors, he earned Atlantic 10 Second Team honors this season and was also named to TopDrawerSoccer's Top 100 Freshman List last season.
