RICHMOND, Va. – This weekend the VCU Men's Soccer team will celebrate its 40th season on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. when it faces off against conference opponent Duquesne. VCU will be welcoming back alumni and will honor the 40th Anniversary Team and inaugural team at halftime of Saturday's match at Sports Backers stadium.

The Rams have appeared in nine NCAA Tournaments since the program began in 1978. They first appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 1997 and the most recent appearance came in 2017 where they were the No. 16 overall seed. "We are looking forward to an exciting weekend celebrating the players, coaches, and support staff who have made VCU Soccer special over the past 40 years," Head Coach David Giffard said.

So far this season VCU has recorded a 6-4-0 overall record with a perfect 2-0-0 record in conference play. The Rams two conference victories came over La Salle and UMass with scores of 2-0 each match.
