RICHMOND – After announcing their upcoming recruiting class a few weeks ago, the VCU Men's Soccer program and Head Coach David Giffard have announced the addition of Siad Haji to the 2017 incoming class.

Haji joins a recruiting class already ranked 26 in the country by TopDrawerSoccer, as he joins VCU as a transfer from Division III New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire. Originally from Manchester, New Hampshire, the Granite State product stands 5'8, 150 as he will play as an attacking midfielder for the Black & Gold.

"We are excited to add Siad to this year's recruiting class that is already starting to be heralded as one of the nation's best. He is a player that has represented the USA at several age group national team levels and has an enormous upside as an attacking midfield player both at this level and beyond. As it is with all new players, there will be a steep learning curve, but the staff and I can't wait to begin working with him."

The Rams receive a strong resume in Haji, as he was a member of the USA U-15, U-17, and U-19 national teams, and was named to the first 11 of the U-17/U-18 Eastern Conference of the U.S. Soccer Academy in 2015/16. He did so as one of the top 33 players in the country as a member of Seacoast United. He was one of the top players in the country in the class of 2016.

As a member of New England College, he led his team in scoring at the DIII Level from his attacking midfield position. He did that as a freshman, helping NEC capture it's first ever NAC Championship and bid into the NCAA Tournament.
